About Us

Our club mission statement is: 'to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills which, in turn, foster self-confidence and personal growth'.

Our Meetings
Simply put, our club is dedicated to helping people become more confident communicators and leaders. We do that by providing regular opportunities to practise public speaking and receive constructive feedback. Learning, laughter and liveliness make our meetings enjoyable and memorable.

Formed early in 2004, our Club has grown quickly and has over 30 members with each meeting having an average attendance of 20.

[We will provide you with the latest information on fees when you visit]

As a not for profit group run by its own members, we believe membership represents fantastic value for money compared to most publicly available courses on this subject. "Learning by doing" offers a distinct advantage within the supportive environment here at Spa Speakers.
  1. How do you support new members?
One of the things we are very keen on is making sure that members not only feel welcome, but also are given a gentle introduction to public speaking. Each new member is given an experienced club member as a mentor. The mentor will give one-to-one help with the first few speeches, and also make sure that new members set themselves a reasonable programme of speeches. In time the not-so-new members will be asked to do some mentoring themselves.
